A global leader in innovative fastening solutions is hiring a Screw Machine Operator/Machinist in Winston-Salem, NC! This is an exciting opportunity to join a long-standing manufacturing team serving major industries including automotive, electronics, consumer electronics, and datacom, with strong internal growth opportunities, development plans, and a reputation for solving complex fastening challenges.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Screw Machine Operator/Machinist position include:
- 5+ years of experience with screw machines, preferably Davenport or ACME machines.
- Experience with Swiss machines may be considered, but this is not a CNC operator role.
- Set up and operate multi-spindle automatic screw machines for turning, facing, boring, drilling, reaming, tapping, threading, and forming operations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, machine parts drawings, manuals, specifications, tool charts, and instructions.
- Use micrometers and gauges to inspect parts and make machine adjustments to maintain quality specifications.
- Perform basic troubleshooting, sharpen and reset tools, and adjust feeds and speeds as needed.
- Maintain bar stock, install cams, gears, drills, and tooling according to setup layouts.
- Stand for 8–12 hour shifts, lift up to 40 lbs regularly, and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
Salary: $25 - $30 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including high deductible and PPO medical options, with the high plan fully company paid for the individual, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) with up to a 4% match when contributing 8%, negotiable vacation with typically 2 weeks to start plus personal time, a quarterly bonus of 8% of salary, merit increases, optional overtime, and a 10% shift differential for night shift.
