We are currently looking for a Tufting Operator to join our team in Bridgeport, CT. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Tufting Operator position include:
- Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of related experience in carpet tufting or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, internet)
- General math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as orders, layouts, and installation instructions
- Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies
- Experience with power tools
- Flexibility to work on Saturdays and other shifts
- Ability to pass a background test and drug test
- Responsibilities:
- Operate tufting equipment efficiently to produce first-quality carpet
- Conduct machine set-up checks and perform maintenance tasks (e.g., replace needles, align blades, sharpen scissors)
- Inspect carpets during production and make necessary repairs
- Check carpets and yarn to ensure orders are met
- Clean and maintain the machine and work area
- Assist with changing the primary backing and marking produced rolls
- Drive forklift when needed
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
Salary: $30 - $35 per hour, commensurate with experience.
