A premier leader in the construction industry is seeking a Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) for an exciting opportunity in the White Sands, NM area. This role is ideal for safety professionals who are ready to make a significant impact by overseeing and enforcing rigorous safety standards on high-profile projects for the Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Qualifications and responsibilities for this Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) position include:
- 5+ years of construction safety experience on DoD projects.
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification (within the past 5 years).
- USACE Quality Control Management Certificate.
- Recent 24 hours of safety and health-related training applicable to the job.
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to pass DoD security clearance for base access.
- Develop, implement, and enforce Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DoD, and USACE EM385-1-1 standards.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and generate detailed reports.
- Provide on-site safety training and orientations.
- Coordinate emergency responses and interface with emergency services.
- Collaborate with project teams to refine safety policies and procedures.
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
