Qualifications and responsibilities for this Mechanical Engineer position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a design or shop environment.
  • Experience with military materials science is a major plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and 3D CAD techniques and software; SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and similar software preferred
  • Conduct research, development, and testing on corrosion, marine fouling, and Naval hardware in a specialized facility.
  • Perform hands-on manufacturing, assembly, and testing of mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and industry partners to develop and transition technologies for fleet applications.
  • Lead projects from concept to execution, including proposal writing, testing, data evaluation, and documentation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (no criminal history, clean financial history, and no foreign national contacts).

Salary: $75,000 - $115,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Relocation assistance is available for well-qualified candidates. Additionally, this position includes a $1,800/month living allowance.
