Our client, a non-profit charter school developer, is currently seeking a Construction Project Manager to join their team in Washington, D.C. Our client offers an excellent working environment with a team of over 50 dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction management and will be able to read and interpret construction documents and plans. Educational experience is a plus but not required.

As a Construction Project Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating general construction activities, preparing project budgets, assisting in drawing and specification preparation, managing and developing construction managers and GC's, and monitoring and reviewing contractors' work as it relates to budget, schedule and owner's program, among other responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in construction science, engineering or related field from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years of general contractor or construction related experience with an emphasis on ground-up construction
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed construction drawings and specifications and communicate findings with team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project software and Bluebeam
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and interpret the intent of contract documents and mediate disputes as needed
  • Strong initiative and the ability to maintain a calm demeanor in emergencies

This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers a competitive salary and great benefits!

Salary: The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience.

Benefits: Our client offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical/dental/vision insurance, FSA coverage, a dollar-for-dollar equivalent company match to contributions made to the company-sponsored 403(b) plan after six months of employment, a $1,000 yearly learning stipend, leading-edge equipment, and PTO.

This position requires weekly travel throughout the east coast (50%), so candidates MUST be open to heavy travel.
