A premier design, build, and technology studio located just outside of Philadelphia is seeking a CNC Operator/Programmer to join their forward-thinking fabrication team. This innovative company specializes in large-scale, custom experiential projects across public art, retail entertainment, museums, and more—offering creative professionals a rare opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies including 5-axis machining and future-forward robotics in a non-vehicle-based fabrication environment.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this CNC Operator/Programmer position include:
- 3–5 years of CNC operation and programming experience, especially with 5-axis machines and foam, plastic, and wood materials.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, specifically MasterCAM and RhinoCAM.
- Operate and maintain multi-axis CNC platforms including Thermwood M90 512, with potential future use of a 7-axis robotic arm.
- Create and optimize machine code and toolpaths for fully custom, non-production projects.
- Troubleshoot and repair CNC machines to ensure maximum uptime and precision output.
- Interpret and manipulate 2D and 3D models for custom tooling and fixture design.
- Collaborate with the fabrication director and team for machining strategies and workflow planning.
- Optional travel for occasional install support, although most work is shop-based and shipped to clients.
Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
