You’ll oversee exciting asphalt construction projects ranging from $50,000 to $3 million, collaborating with a supportive team on both commercial and state-level initiatives for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). Qualifications and responsibilities for this Asphalt Project Manager position include:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience running asphalt crews on commercial and MDOT projects.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance with MDOT standards.
- Supervise on-site crews, coordinating with inspectors, foremen, and lead project managers.
- Spend 25% of your time in the office and 75% on-site managing daily operations.
- Work on projects within a 50-mile radius of Ann Arbor, with occasional travel extending up to 3 hours from the central location.
- Must have a proven background in asphalt; experience in lumber or concrete will not be considered.
- Strong understanding of field and office coordination, ensuring efficient communication and project execution.
Salary: $60,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including medical healthcare with a $700 monthly contribution from the company, 2 weeks of negotiable vacation time, and paid time off from December 12 through January 7 each year. Additionally, enjoy a company vehicle after the first season or a $500/month vehicle allowance, and local travel with minimal overnight stays.
